Fun Facts About Me!
Fav Character to Play:
There are qualities of each character that are so fun to play! I love singing familiar songs when I play The Little Mermaid and of course singing "Let it go" when I'm the Ice Queen! I love explaining how forgiving my step sisters are important when I'm Cinderella and talking about how I love to paint when I'm Rapunzel. But my favorite has to be Beauty from Beauty and the Beast! Not just because she's a brunette who likes to read. But she is her own person and sees the good in everyone. Basically, I like pointing out the strong qualities of each princess, rather than focusing on them just being pretty.
Fav thing about being a princess or character:
The first moment I walk in the door and you see all of the children's faces light up! It is, hands down, the best feeling in the world! I have been knocked down by a five year olds hug after walking into her party, and have been given a tour of many play rooms and bedrooms, so I can see all of their toys that look like me, and even had a child follow me to my car (without me realizing it at first) because she wanted to come back to "my castle" with me. Nothing can compare to seeing a child filled with pure joy!
Funny thing about me:
I actually wasn't a big "princess" fan as a child. Wonder Woman was my favorite character! She is an amazon princess! And is strong and smart and beautiful. Everything I wanted to be when I grew up… and she had an invisible jet, so that was cool too!
More About Me:
Surprisingly, my name is not Jessica! My name is Megan Thurgood. I have been involved in community theatre for as long as I could remember and love working with kids. I used to work at a daycare for several years, and after working at the Magic Time Machine for five years, it was a perfect fit for me to work for Jessica's Princess Parties! And I've been the proud owner for the last four years!
I've always had a desire to perform and make people laugh! When I was a kid I would put on plays and fashion shows in my living room and would dress up my sisters in old dance costumes and direct them. When I was in the first grade I put together a backyard "carnival". We sold tickets door to door and dressed as clowns. Our dogs were our ferocious lions and we had a trapeze performance on the monkey bars of the swing set.
Having a special character come to your child's birthday party is a chance to see their face light up with pure joy, and create a lasting memory combined with that silliness of playing and making believe. We want to make sure your child remembers this special day forever. It is my goal to create a memorable stress free party for you and your child. Our performers are all very talented professionals who will make sure your child doesn't stop talking about their birthday party until it's time to call us for next year!
